FIVE COUNTRY FOODS for FRIDAY #2

Here at five more country foods I just can't live without:
(Here's last weeks Five if you missed them!)

1. CORNBREAD & MILK
"A Kentucky Snack"

Fry you up a few pones of cornbread and mix it up with milk.
Just throw in some diced onions and a few dashes of pepper and ummmm good!

2. BATTER BREAD

Made from only self rising flour and water, then fried up in a bit of vegetable oil.
Most people use lard, either is good.
I usually eat this with a runny egg or brown beans.
Omygosh, if you haven't had this, make some today!

3. DEEP FRIED JALAPENO RINGS

This is a treat each summer from fresh garden jalapenos!
They are great alone or dipped in ranch.

4. BANANA NUT BREAD

I always add a bit of extra walnut flavoring oil and walnuts to the mix.
And I only use speckled, black, ripe bananas!
Umm, makes my mouth water right now!

5. BAKED MACARONI & CHEESE

Okay, so here I cheat a little. I first boil it normally, but then finish it off in the oven with a baked on layer of mixed cheeses!
Umm Ummm good!

  1. These photos are making me hungry! I used to eat cornbread and milk as a child. I'd forgotten how good it tasted. Enjoy your weekend :)

  7. We all love eating potato chips, candy and other things that are bad for us The truth of the matter is that when you look down and see a bruise that you don't remember getting, there may be more at play than immediately meets the eye. Foods To Eat
